New Recycling Program
SARCAN depots are now accepting flexible plastics, foam packaging, and non-deposit glass for recycling.
Below are a list of some of the items that can be recycled when they are brought to the SARCAN depot. They should not be recycled through the blue bins collections.
- Flexible plastics: plastic bags, zipper lock pouches, crinkly wrappers and bags, and plastic protective packaging.
- Foam packaging: take-out containers, trays for meat, seafood or vegetables, and protective packaging for electronics or appliances.
- Glass bottles and jars: bottles and jars for olive oil, pickles, jam, etc.
Recycling saves money. The more items that are recycled and kept out of the landfill, the lower the landfill costs to the Resort Village.

Do I need a permit to do shoreline work?
Yes, any shoreline work requires an Aquatic Habitat Protection Permit from the Water Security Agency.
